English: A daytime infrared image mosaic of the volcanic province Elysium from the Thermal Emission Imaging System (THEMIS) instrument of the 2001 Mars Odyssey spacecraft. Elysium is the second largest volcanic region on Mars, after Tharsis. Shield volcanoes in the region include Elysium Mons (summit caldera just right of center), and the smaller volcanoes Hecates Tholus to the upper right and Albor Tholus to the lower right. Some of the features in this image are annotated in Wikimedia Commons. |
