Buffalo Central Terminal is an historic former railroad station in Buffalo, New York. An active station from 1929 to 1979, the 17-story Art Deco style station was designed by architects Fellheimer & Wagner for the New York Central Railroad. After years of abandonment, it is now owned by the non-profit preservation group Central Terminal Restoration Corporation, which is working to restore and re-purpose the complex. The Central Terminal is located in the city of Buffalo's Broadway/Fillmore district.

  • Das New York Central Terminal, auch genannt Buffalo Central Terminal (deutsch: Central-Bahnhof Buffalo) ist ein stillgelegter Personen- und Güterbahnhof im Osten von Buffalo im US-Bundesstaat New York. Er diente der namensgebenden New York Central Railroad als Zentralbahnhof für den Personen- und Stückgutverkehr in der Stadt und war von 1929 bis 1979 in Betrieb. Nach seiner Stilllegung wechselte der Bahnhof mehrfach seinen Eigentümer. Mangels erfolgreicher Nutzungskonzepte wurde er dabei aber teilweise abgerissen, ausgeschlachtet und schließlich über lange Jahre dem Verfall preisgegeben. Seit 2003 werden Teile des Empfangsgebäudes auf Initiative einer gemeinnützigen Organisation wieder für kulturelle Zwecke genutzt. Das Empfangsgebäude wurde 1927–1929 im Art-Déco-Stil errichtet und zählt zu den letzten prestigeträchtigen Bahnhofsbauten einer privaten Eisenbahngesellschaft in den Vereinigten Staaten. Seine bauliche Struktur wurde seinerzeit in besonderem Maße auf die Betriebsabläufe im Innern ausgerichtet. Das Terminal wurde 1984 in das National Register of Historic Places aufgenommen. (de)
