- Die Empire Exhibition Trophy war ein Fußball-Pokalwettbewerb, der im Jahr 1938 während der Empire Exhibition in Glasgow ausgespielt wurde. Es war nach den Turnieren in den Jahren 1888 und 1901 die dritte Austragung dieser Art. Der Wettbewerb, der vom Schottischen Fußballverband geleitet wurde, begann am 25. Mai 1938 und endete mit dem Finale am 10. Juni 1938 im Ibrox Park in Glasgow. Am Wettbewerb nahmen vier Vereine aus England und vier aus Schottland teil. Der Wettbewerb fand im K.-o.-Modus statt und bestand aus der 1. Runde, dem Halbfinale und dem Finale. Im Endspiel standen sich Celtic Glasgow und der FC Everton gegenüber. Celtic gewann das Endspiel durch ein Tor von Johnny Crum mit 1:0. Die Siegertrophäe wurde vom Earl of Elgin überreicht. (de)
- The Empire Exhibition Trophy was a football competition held in 1938 in conjunction with the Empire Exhibition, Scotland 1938 in Glasgow. It was held to commemorate the Exhibition, then underway in Bellahouston Park, and the prize was a solid silver model of the Tait Tower. Four teams from Scotland and four from England contested the straight knock out competition. Brentford took the place of fellow London club Arsenal, who elected to withdraw. Celtic defeated Everton 1–0 in the final, on 10 June 1938, with a goal from Johnny Crum in extra-time. The final was watched by a crowd of over 82,000 at Ibrox Park. This tournament, like the later Coronation Cup, was held in very high regard at the time as it gave teams the opportunity to test themselves against teams from other leagues in the days before European football. - L' Empire Exhibition Trophy è stata una competizione calcistica che si tenne a Glasgow nel 1938 in occasione del British Empire Exhibition, manifestazione espositiva internazionale che ebbe luogo nella capitale scozzese dal mese di maggio a dicembre. A questo torneo presero parte le quattro migliori squadre di Scozia e Inghilterra. Le squadre partecipanti per la Scozia furono Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen e Hearts. Per l'Inghilterra, invece, parteciparono Sunderland, Everton, Brentford (che aveva preso il posto dell'Arsenal, ritiratasi prima dell'inizio della competizione) e Chelsea. Tutte le partite furono disputate all'Ibrox Park. La finale fu tra Celtic ed Everton, con gli scozzesi vincitori per 1-0 nei tempi supplementari. Il trofeo messo in palio era costituito da una riproduzione in argento della Tait Tower (o Torre dell'Impero), struttura eretta a Bellahouston Park, a Glasgow, in occasione della manifestazione espositiva. Questo torneo, al pari della British League Cup del 1902 e, successivamente, della Coronation Cup del 1953, fu giudicato di grande importanza. Infatti, queste manifestazioni permettevano a squadre di diverse leghe calcistiche di confrontarsi tra di loro nei periodi antecedenti alla nascita delle competizioni calcistiche europee. (it)
