- Murder Inc. was an American hip hop supergroup formed by American music executive Irv Gotti, in 1995.The trio was composed of three of the most prominent rappers in the music industry at the time, East Coast hip hop artists Jay-Z, DMX, and Ja Rule. The trio first appeared on fellow New York-based rapper Mic Geronimo's song "Time to Build". The trio even went on to appear on the cover of the June 1999 issue of American hip-hop magazine XXL. "Murder Inc." was rebranded by Irv Gotti in the namesake record label he co-founded in 1998, in which Ja Rule was signed. (en)
- Murder Inc. est un groupe de metal industriel américain, originaire de Chicago, dans l'Illinois. Formé en 1991, il comprenait à l'époque de membres du groupe Killing Joke, excepté Jaz Coleman, leur chanteur, écarté le temps de ce projet au profit de Chris Connelly. Des conflits permanents au sein de Killing Joke incitent Martin Atkins à créer cette formation alternative, entraînant à sa suite Paul Raven, Geordie Walker et John Bechdel. Le groupe produit un album homonyme et un EP pour l'accompagner, intitulé Corpuscule, avant de se séparer. Une compilation, Locate Subvert Terminate, propose l'intégralité de ces deux enregistrements ainsi que quelques titres capturés en concert. Après la fin de Murder, Inc., Connelly, Atkins et Walker fondent The Damage Manual. C'est sans grande surprise que l'on découvre de grandes similitudes entre la musique de Murder, Inc. et celle de Killing Joke à la même époque. (fr)
