- Das Sandakan Massacre Memorial ist ein Mahnmal, das an die aus Sandakans stammenden chinesischen Opfer des 27. Mai 1945 erinnert, bei der die japanischen Besatzer Sabahs im Zweiten Weltkrieg mehr als 30 Chinesen hinrichteten – Mitglieder der lokalen Führungsschicht, die nach Überzeugung der Besatzer mit der Untergrundbewegung in Verbindung standen oder diese unterstützten. Die Gedenkstätte wurde an dem Platz errichtet, an dem das Massaker stattfand und wo die Opfer verscharrt wurden. Die Gedenkstätte befindet sich nahe dem chinesischen Friedhof auf einem Hügel (Rea Hill) oberhalb des alten Stadtzentrums von Sandakan. (de)
- Sandakan Massacre Memorial (Malay: Tugu Peringatan Pembunuhan Beramai-ramai Sandakan) consists of three monuments which commemorate 30 Chinese victims, most of the members are local elite of an underground movement who been executed on 27 May 1945 along with several other victims during the Japanese occupation of North Borneo. The memorial was built on the spot where the massacre took place and where the victims were buried. It is located near a Chinese cemetery on a hill above the old town centre of Sandakan. (en)
