- ثورة ثريسو (باليونانية: Επανάσταση του Θερίσου) هي انتفاضة سياسية اندلعت في شهر مارس عام 1905 ضد حكومة كريت (التي كانت دولة مستقلة تحت السيادة العثمانية آنذاك) بقيادة السياسي الكريتي إلفثيريوس فينيزيلوس، وسُميت تلك الثورة بهذا الاسم تيمنًا بقرية والدته، ثريسو، التي انبثقت منها الثورة. نجمت تلك الثورة عن النزاع القائم بين فينيزيلوس وحاكم الجزيرة، الأمير جورج اليوناني، بشأن مصير الجزيرة، وتحديدًا مسألة ما إذا كان ينبغي على جزيرة كريت أن تتحد مع اليونان أم لا. يعود تاريخ هذا النزاع إلى عام 1901 عندما فصل الأمير جورج فينيزيلوس من الحكومة. وتزايدت العداوة بينهما نتيجة لموقف الأخير تجاه العلاقات الخارجية ورفضه الانخراط في الحوار مع مستشاريه بشأن أحوال الجزيرة الداخلية. وبعد صراع سياسي طويل، قرر فينيزيلوس وأتباعه الشروع في عصيان مسلح بهدف توحيد جزيرة كريت مع اليونان وإقامة حكومة ديمقراطية للجزيرة. لم تنجح ثورة ثريسو في ترسيخ حكم فينيزيلوس فحسب، بل نجحت كذلك في جذب انتباه العالم اليوناني الأوسع نطاقًا إليه. إذ ذاع صيت فينيزلوس في اليونان ما أدى إلى استدعائه إلى هناك وتقلده منصب رئيس وزراء اليونان في عام 1909. - La révolte de Thérissos (grec moderne : Η Επανάσταση του Θερίσου) est un épisode de l'histoire de la Crète. C'est une insurrection qui éclate en mars 1905 contre le gouvernement de la Crète, alors autonome. Elle est menée par Elefthérios Venizélos et tire son nom du village natal de la mère de Venizélos, Thérissos, qui est le siège de cette révolte. La révolte de Thérissos naît du conflit entre Elefthérios Venizélos et le prince Georges de Grèce à propos de l'avenir de l'île, en particulier sur la question de l'union de la Crète à la Grèce. Bien que commençant en mars 1905, la révolte trouve ses origines dès 1901 avec le renvoi de Venizélos du gouvernement crétois par le prince Georges. L'opposition entre Venizélos et le prince est précipitée par l'attitude de ce dernier dans les affaires internationales et par son refus de dialoguer avec ses conseillers sur les affaires internes de l'île. - The Theriso revolt (Greek: Επανάσταση του Θερίσου) was an insurrection that broke out in March 1905 against the government of Crete, then an autonomous state under Ottoman suzerainty. The revolt was led by the Cretan politician Eleftherios Venizelos, and is named after his mother's native village, Theriso, the focal point of the revolt. The revolt stemmed from the dispute between Venizelos and the island's ruler, Prince George of Greece, over the island's future, particularly over the question of Cretan union with Greece. The conflict's origin can be traced to 1901, when Prince George dismissed Venizelos from the government. The hostility between Venizelos and the prince was precipitated by the latter's attitude toward foreign relations and by his refusal to engage in dialogue with his advisers over the island's internal affairs. After a prolonged political struggle, Venizelos and his followers decided upon an armed uprising, with the goals of uniting Crete with Greece and ushering in a more democratic government for the island. The Theriso revolt not only established Venizelos as the leading politician in Crete, but also brought him to the attention of the wider Greek world. His reputation would lead in 1909 to his call to Greece, where he became Prime Minister. (en)
