Aqua Edge (アクアエッジ, Akuaejji^?) is a novice Water-elemental spell in the Tales series.

Arte Description and History

In its first appearance, Aqua Edge is one of Keele Zeibel's novice-tier Craymel Artes that he knows by default, and it costs the least TP of any Craymel Arte. It appears as a single disc of water and emits a ring upon hitting an enemy. Despite being exclusive to Keele in the game, Meredy and Undine are able to use it together in Tales of Eternia: The Animation, though it takes the form of a deluge of water.

In Tales of Symphonia, this is one of the first spells Genis Sage learns. The move summons three discs of water in a triangle around Genis that home in on the _targeted enemy. The discs only hover a little above the ground, so they cannot hit enemies that are flying or floating unless they're knocked down first. This appearance is carried over to most games it reappears in. Though not a powerful move, this spell is useful at the Triet Ruins, which is where it usually first appears. The arte, when used a sufficient number of times, allows Genis access to Spread or Aqua Laser at level 17, depending on whether he is disposed toward the Technical or Strike branch of artes. Undine, the Summon Spirit of Water, is also able to use the spell, though it is more powerful and lasts longer than Genis's version, surrounding the _target while it lasts.

In Tales of Crestoria, Genis's Kendama Battler unit has 70% chance to inflict Dispel for two turns while his Wise Beyond The Years deals one more hit, is 63% stronger and has 100% chance to inflict Dispel for three turns. The latter also have an increased cooldown by one turn.
