Margaux (born c. 1593) was the adoptive daughter of Catherine and the younger sister to Ermeline. Both sisters were raised in the Landes region of France, but while Ermeline dreamt of settling in a town, Margaux flourished in the simple life they led. In 1609, her mother was accused of witchcraft and taken to Bayonne, where she was burned alive as part of the Labourd witch-hunt of 1609. The Templar responsible, Pierre de Lancre, captured Ermeline as a hostage while Margaux managed to flee. She was taken in by Nicodemus, an Assassin close to her mother, who then began training her in the ways of an Assassin.[1]
Personality and traits
Margaux had a very high count of Isu DNA, having naturally developped Eagle Vision during infancy. She was able to activate the Shroud enthrusted to her adoptive mother in mere seconds while it took up to twenty minutes to Catherine and her adoptive sister, who both had an above average count.
Behind the scenes
While her biological mother was stated to be the late Assassin Florine, the identity of her father is not revealed in the book. Yet, it is strongly implied that Isaac was in fact her father.
