Tips & Bricks shows how to use Brickset
Posted by Huw,Tips & Bricks has carved out a niche for itself by presenting building tutorials, set reviews, MOCs and more in a unique, attractive and consistent way on Instagram, Facebook and its own website.
Recently Alex and the team that run the site published a guide to using Brickset which I thought was so useful that I'd mention it to you here. It explains how to access and use the basic features of the site as well as some of those that are more hidden away, so even if you've been visiting for a while you may learn something from it.
Take a look and let us know what you discover!

Nice overview!
I've definitely neglected to check out the library; gonna get lost in there for sure...
Wait, wallpapers? Never knew.
Huw, do you know why brickset is not updating amazon prices for more than 24 hours now?
Also, I'm noticing more and more that even when the last update was 1 or 2 minutes ago, the set is not available anymore. Any idea why this happens?
Thank you!
As far as I can tell the data is being imported regularly. Which Amazon are you looking at and which sets in particular?
Tip 1: disconnect your credit card from Amazon

When you see this link it shows more than 24 hours for them all. That's unusual.

Also, when you see this link, the 1st set (41446) for instance is not for sale for some time now and it still appears (several days) as available.

Gracias, but what does that mean? How do you pay on Amazon other than credit card?
That reminds me, I have a question about my sets analysis graphs- specifically, the graph of value: what value is that referring to? RRP in a particular currency? Resale value?

Bom dia - it's a joke, my friend. Don't spend too much money on "discounted" LEGO. ;)
Would have been helpful when I first joined, but I caught on soon after on my own anyways. I never knew about the wallpapers though, gotta check that out!
Websites shouldn’t need how to guides. They should be intuitive to navigate.
This might be off topic but this is the first article on Brickset right now. I was wondering why Brickset has gotten rid of the feature on the right side of the website home page where it would show you Lego Sets on sale on Amazon from your Wishlist. It disappeared a few days ago and I went on amazon and I searched around and found there were multiple on sale sets they could be showing. But its just not been there for days, it was the best feature on this website!
Step 1: read articles
Step 2: post comments
A good reminder about the possibility of the site! Thanks!

What do you find unintuitive about it?
Yes, obviously everything should be intuitive to use, but how would you make all of the myriad features of Brickset "intuitive" to access? A web 2.0 sidebar of ALL possible pages down one side?
The brickset wallpapers are cool, especially the mad Viking carnage scenes, and power miners close-ups. Everything mentioned can be found from here https://brickset.com/library .
The Monday Moc on Tips and Tricks has lots of potential, but was hoping for more commentary on the designers and models rather than just links to photo websites.

I was going to say the same, missing now for well over 24 hours for all countries it seems?
It appears the scheduled tasks have not been running since Monday, so Amazon and other data has not been imported, and RSotD is not being posted. I will investigate.

Jejeje, por supuesto qué no -- the thing is, I'm not «interested» in any other LEGO, if you catch my drift ;-)
Thank you, Huw. For some reason I had never investigated using the "BUY" tab to check out e-bay prices. It's very convenient. Cheers!

What kind of commentary would you be interested in? Do you mean comments by the designers themselves, or more analysis of the building techniques and parts being used?
Awesome! This article made me discover the idea books section in the Library and I am very happy with it. Thanks @Huw for the amazing features.
People need a guide to use Brickset?

"Not keen on Tips and Bricks. Impossible to read Harry Potter set reviews without pages of warnings."
From what I can tell, only the header image contains a warning of any kind. It takes less than two seconds to scroll past it if it bothers you that much.
@Huw,
Any news of when we can see a review of the bone demon?
Can we get the https://brickset.com/buy/amazon results through the API ?

Yes, websites should be intuitive. Personally I think Brickset is quite intuitive and easy to use. It's not your typical website either. There are a whole lot of features and possibilities you won't find elsewhere. It's impossible to make SO much SO easy for everyone.Always nice to have a user guide. Some might like it, some might not. Besides what one person finds easy may not be quite so easy for another. Huw continually takes feedback and adds features and improvements. With a site so well established it's amazing there are more features to add. Always room for improvement for sure, but no major complaints from me. Brickset is my go to site, sure not only site, but by far my go to site for all things Lego.
