Funkcija
urediOvaj genski proizvod pripada UNC-5 porodici netrinskih receptora. Netrini su izlučeni proteini koji usmjeravaju proširenje aksona i migraciju ćelija tokom neuralnog razvoja. Oni su bifunkcionalni proteini koji djeluju kao atraktanti za neke tipove ćelioja i kao repelenti za druge, a smatra se da ova suprotna djelovanja posreduju dvije klase receptora. Porodica receptora UNC-5 posreduju u repelentnom odgovoru na netrin; oni su transmembranski proteini koji sadrže dva imunoglobulinska (Ig) domena i dva tipa I trombospondinskih motiva u vanćelijskoj regiji.[7]
