About Dana Noraas

Dana Noraas is a Senior Resource Writer for Collider. Her favorite genre of movies to watch and write about is horror, but she will watch everything from Disney to Darren Aronofsky. She received her BA in Strategic Communications from Temple University of Philadelphia in 2015 after switching majors from Film and Media Arts and has been writing ever since. As a "Constant Reader" of Stephen King, she has an extensive collection of his works on her bookshelf, along with other horror authors such as Joe Hill, Christopher Buehlman, and Thomas Harris.

In 2018, she wrote and published her first book, "Lingering Things and Other Dark Tales” which is inspired by her childhood favorite anthology series, “Scary Stories to Tell In the Dark,” and is currently working on the second book of the series. Dana can usually be found in her natural habitat; a dark cave somewhere in Northeastern Pennsylvania with a glass of red wine and her two fuzzy companions by her side.

Favorite Media

Dana's all-time favorite horror movie is M. Night Shyamalan's 'The Sixth Sense. She inadvertently watched it at a family get-together when she was about 8 years old and has been a horror fan ever since. In addition to horror movies, she is an avid fan of the Game of Thrones series and subsequent spinoff prequel House of the Dragon. Almost anything on HBO, she will inevitably watch, including 'The Last of Us' and 'Last Week Tonight with John Oliver', the latter of which, she was lucky enough to travel to NYC and watch a live filming of the 2024 Easter episode.

Industry Experience

Originally a Film and Media arts major at Temple University because of her love of movies and screenwriting, Dana changed majors to Strategic Communication because she realized she loved writing more than movie-making and could fine-tune her skills as a writer without having to uproot her East Coast life and move to California to take her chance at becoming a writer for a show or film.

Dana has been writing for Collider since February 2022. Before that, she wrote, edited, and published her first horror anthology, "Lingering Things and Other Dark Tales," which contains 15 original short stories varying from supernatural horror, survival horror, and realistic horror. As a Resource writer, she enjoys digging up information about upcoming films and television shows and crafting them into a concise and informative article.
