Image is an unambiguous copyright violation. This is simply an edit of the main logo for the series, e.g.: http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bscap000.jpg. This *is* close to PD-textlogo, but clearly has 3D effects and particular lighting/shading effects, indicating creative effort and originality. — Huntster (t @ c) 22:55, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- I think this variant of the logo is close enough to PD-textlogo to be kept. These 3D fonts and lighting effects are very easy to create nowadays. --PaterMcFly (talk) 19:25, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
- I don't think it matters how easy it is to create, but rather the degree of creativity involved. Someone had to decide form, colour, degree of 3D effect, amount and angle of lightning, etc. This, I believe, is more than simple text. — Huntster (t @ c) 03:24, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
- Yea, but there's almost no creativity included here. Choosing a few colors and a (nowadays rather common) 3D-Effect is not enough imo. See these examples for a comparison (unfortunatelly, there's no 3D logo on that list, so there's a bit of guesswork involved). --PaterMcFly (talk) 07:01, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
- None of those include any texturing or special lighting effects. That is primarily what pulls this logo beyond that low-hanging threshold of originality. It would safest to simply replace this image with a black and white logo like File:NCIS Los Angeles.jpg. — Huntster (t @ c) 07:32, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

- Keep I do not see how this image is any more "creative" than something like File:Hercules 1998 Intertitle.png §hepTalk 00:37, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- Go ahead and close this. Sadly, Commons is getting extremely lax in its interpretation of this area of public domain. We're tasked with collecting freely-licensed material, not everything we think should be freely licensed. — Huntster (t @ c) 02:14, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
Kept, does not pass the threshold of originality. Kameraad Pjotr 18:27, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
