| Description |
Kbely (Prague), 10 September 1988. Russian paratroopers are jumping out of an An-12. Both plane and soldiers were stationed in what still was Czechoslovakia. Two paratroopers got their parachutes entangled and came down twice as a fast as the others. The crowd held its breath, medics raced to the scene, but the Russians just stood up and walked away. This was my first airshow behind the Iron Curtain. The wall was still standing. Seeing all the Russian types for the first time (MiG-21, 23, 27, Mi-2, 8, 24, Su-25, An-12, 24) was an experience I will never forget. |
