Description
English: Woodcut print by Torii Kiyonaga : Ninth month of the series Minami jûni kô. Oban size Ukiyo-e 37.9cm × 25.4cm. Owned by Chiba City Museum of Art. Prostitutes (ja:遊女 yūjo) in a brothel at Shinagawa, Tokyo.
日本語: 鳥居清長の版画 : 美南見十二候 九月 (漁火). 大判錦絵 37.9cm × 25.4cm. 千葉市美術館所蔵。「美南見」は南に位置する遊廓で品川。遊女がくつろいでいる図である。「漁火」は9月のことであり窓の外の景色にも漁火は描かれている。

Other versions Estampe de 1784 de Kiyonaga (1752 - 1815), représentant le neuvième mois de la série Minami jûni kô (Les douze mois dans le quartier sud).

On peut penser que cette estampe de format oban faisait partie d'un diptyque, comme c'est le cas pour les autres mois que l'on connait de cette série ; mais cette éventuelle deuxième volet du diptyque est resté inconnu.

Estampe nostalgique, où la courtisane de droite regarde la baie de Shinagawa, alors que la nuit tombe et que l'on distingue les feux des bateaux de pêcheurs.
