O.B. Kent album, 1916

In 1916, O.B. Kent, Chairman of the U.S. interstate Commerce Commission presented a set of Alaska and Yukon photographs, mostly of gold-rush era and mining subjects, to Henry J. Wellcome. Wellcome was a pharmaceutical entrepreneur (Burroughs-Wellcome) with a strong and long-standing interest in William Duncan's mission at Metlakatla, Alaska. Those pictures eventually went to the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration as part of the much larger Wellcome Collection. This page collects the contents of the Kent set.
