Aafi
a learner on a long road to nowhere
It is not the length but the depth of life that matters.

About me
I was born and brought up in Kashmir Valley. I am an academic researcher, and have been a regular contributor to Wikimedia projects since March 2019. I am an enthusiastic traveller and randomly photograph nature: sky, water and else. I also have a mobile account AafiOnMobile, and before having myself renamed to Aafi, my account was at TheAafi, which is now a doppelgänger account. عافی is my another doppelgänger username. I am a Wikimedia organiser: find me around here.
My work
I am a sysop here and on the Urdu Wikipedia, and volunteer as a translation administrator across several projects including Wikimedia Commons. I am a global renamer and a member of the Volunteer Response Team. I established Deoband Community Wikimedia in 2021 to help document knowledge related to global Muslim academia on Wikimedia projects (see my role account Aafi (DCW)). I feel happy when asked to help, and consider myself a learner. I am comfortable with English, Hindi, Kashmiri and Urdu languages.
