My profession is Greek philosophy and Science in the 6th and 5th centuries BC. I do this in school, at the Department of Philosophy and History of Science (Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague). On the Wikimedia unleashes some other passions: the ancient art and ancient religion. (Motivated me missionary obsession with the beauty of nature and of art, and somewhere - in the southeast Egeis - also exalted Cycladic nationalism.) Similar things I also publishes in the private Czech website www.fysis.cz where they are on the "Greek Pictures": http://www.fysis.cz/N Presocratics philosophers (Ancient Greek and Czech texts) see: http://www.fysis.cz/presokratici or database: http://www.presokratici.cz

I am preparing here photos for a book on the Cyclades (licensed under CC, in Czech, www.keros.cz).

On request I can also send most of the photos in the TIF, since 2007 also in RAW format.

Indeed, as already said Heraclitus of Ephesus (fragment B 124 ):

ὥσπερ σάρμα εἰκῇ κεχυμένων ὁ κάλλιστος κόσμος.

Translated by W. Harris:

The fairest universe ("kosmos") is but a heap of rubbish ("sweepings") piled up ("poured out") at random ("aimlessly").

Translated by Charles H. Kahn:

The fairest order in the world is a heap of random sweepings.

My Czech translation:

Jako hromada ledabyle nasypaných věcí je nejkrásnější svět.
