PRC flag
editYou were right about this one; I checked your drawing with what I had in the term of official specs and it matches us very well. Also the code was reduced so I replaced the file with the one that you did. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 20:38, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
- When it comes to other flags, there are some we just don't know. Yes, there are Honduras flags with the stars closer together. What I got is http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v76/zscout370/?action=view¤t=image037.jpg, which shows the stars further apart then what you stated. The only thing the law states is "la del centro blanca y llevará al centro cinco estrellas de cinco ángulos salientes del mismo color azul, formando con cuatro de ellas un cuadrilongo paralelo a las franjas, siendo colocada, la restante al centro del mismo cuadrilátero." There is no definition for "salient angles" and the legislation also mentioned that four of the five stars must form a rectangle (which size, no idea). That is the thing, we just don't know and people will just argue over it (like people who argued over the colors). The reason why most of these images are protected is that we deal with a lot of projects and want to be really sure we are correct before we do anything. editHello It https://www.fotw.info/flags/ir. Html code for your authoritative source? How green is valid?
- What URL do you refer? The above mentioned URL doesn't exist. ("The requested URL /flags/ir was not found on this server.")

- Well, I will put the new Coat_of_Arms into the new flag_version and will then try to upload this, too. (I should be successful to try in at most 1/2 hour ). Achim1999 (talk) 20:50, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

- What I am thinking is that the bottom part of the Arabic texts isn't bleeding into the white center part of the flag, like you see in the previous versions. See page 16 of that PDF I put on the file page. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 17:56, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
- Which PDF do you call for witness (exact URL please, I don#t know what File-page you are talking, I notce no PDF which you have added)?
- BTW: What about the new Coat of Arms? Achim1999 (talk) 18:28, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
- It is not bleeding into the center white strip. What do you mean?
- This can happen with this SVG-code only for 1 pixel in the case the flag's height is not divisible by 3, and the green and/or red strip is 1 pixel thicker than the white strip in the final rendering. (I told you, you don't know when the renderer rounds up or down when generating the final pixel-image). By design definition (better it's English translation) the "Allahu Akbar"-pattern-string should touch the white center strip. Did you notice the upload of the flag-version with its comment "Something is wrong" ? Achim1999 (talk) 18:37, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
- Have a look at the URL [http:0xc.de/flags/iran]. Work in progress. Achim1999 (talk) 18:43, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
- Do you mean see URL http://www.isiri.org/portal/files/std/1.pdf ? On its page 16, there is a colored Iranian flag. But this is only for overview, it is not a reference!
- It looks like the flag is cut off at both ends.
- The strip of pattern is not centered in the green strip!
- There should be exactly 11*2 "Allahu Akbar" symmatrically placed.
- Your joke? :-) Moreover it looks like there are missing page(s) after the final page. On the first page there is writen "1st.revision". It looks to me like a working paper. Achim1999 (talk) 19:05, 19 June 2012 (UTC)

Flag of Iran
editSorry for reverting you without any further explanation. The reason why I did this is because I think something might be wrong with the coding. For instance, take a look at this page. Do you see what I'm pointing at? --Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 19:56, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
- No, I don't. And I dislike to read now the whole article, to be then perhaps(!) able to guess what you might mean. :-/
- What will happen, if everybody who thinks that something might be wrong and thus uploads a new variant (effectively overwriting display of the former)? Chaos will rule! :-(
- Your uploaded version was definitively wrong with the Takbir at all 4 ends of the two strips. It looks more like a coding problem in your SVG-code to me. Thus I interpreted the "Something might be wrong" to your uploaded flag-SVG, because this was the comment for your version!
- Notice: For all official pictures on wikimedia where a technical construction is behind, we generally need an authorized written reference (by the according institute / government / owner) for the new variant to make a different design publicly on wikimedia!
- "Sorry" excepted. Achim1999 (talk) 20:14, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
- This is how it appeared on my screen, which is why I assumed there was no need for any further explanation. Do you see the break of the patterns? This, however, was no excuse for my unexplained revertion, which I again apologize for. But could you perhaps consider having a look at the file again? --Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 20:31, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
- I know what is going on here -- I think at least :-) . Because I discovered this aliasing effect by myself when changing its internal size. See my explanation at User talk:Zscout370#File:Flag_of_Iran.svg. It is a principle rendering problem due to weaknesses of SVG-1.1. I currently don't know a solution without displaying an artifically wrong made design. :-/ My best advice: try to avoid flag heights which are not divisible by small numbers in general. Or make a big SVG-rendered pixel graphic into a png/gif/jpeg image and scale this down to the size you wanted (color mixtures will occur and so anti-aliasing effects). Achim1999 (talk) 20:42, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
- Your example has effectively a 50x29 flag-image inside! 29 is a prime, not divisible by any small number! :-( Achim1999 (talk) 20:46, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
- That might explain the aliasing effect. Thanks for clarifying :) With regards, Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 01:13, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

What do you do with the flag?
editWhat do you do with the flag?
editHello What do you do with the flag? Do not see the problem here? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran 2.176.209.85 08:15, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- No. Would be nice if you either tell me your problem, or why you wrote this message. Achim1999 (talk) 10:53, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- BTW: Your pointer to File:Flag of Iran the other way.svg is a missdesigned flag (by me by purpose) to visualize/show an existing SVG-to-png render problem. Achim1999 (talk) 10:56, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
Hello Note:http://up.vatandownload.com/images/2xhsh8kjvb47rm4ec2pw.png Do you allow me to do and you give an example? Sam esfid (talk) 08:34, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Sam
- Please
- read (and hopefully understand) the explanation File Talk:Flag of Iran.svg#general comments.
- explain your question / idea / statement / opinion ... precisely in English or German. :)
- and if you think a picture is (as further support) good for explanation, choose a (temporary) new name, load it up on wikimedia and give me a pointer to this image.
- But if you think this should be of interest for public, then write your proposal better on the talkpage File Talk:Flag of Iran.svg.
- Thanks and Regards, Achim1999 (talk) 08:57, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

Re: SVG image display sizes
editI'm an SVG image author, and frequent troubleshooter of problems with SVG images (since I'm not dependent on a program like Inkscape or AI to manipulate SVG files, but instead can open them directly in a text editor and modify the basic XML code). However, I'm not a developer in the sense that I'm not a C programmer, and I don't have any responsibility or authority for how SVG files are rendered here or on Wikipedia. AnonMoos (talk) 20:12, 25 June 2012 (UTC
- "since I'm not dependent on a program like Inkscape or AI to manipulate SVG files, but instead can open them directly in a text editor and modify the basic XML code" Good to hear! Me too! But I had not expected that this is sufficient to be called SVG-expert on wikimedia. :) Moreover I guess: you don't know who is responsible how SVG files are rendered here on wikimedia and who is responsible for the default sizes? (Noone?) :-/ Achim1999 (talk)
- I'm not an expert artist like Sodacan, nor someone who will explore any obscure byway in the SVG specification to shave 27 bytes off an SVG file like Sarang, but I am a general SVG troubleshooter who can do a number of things which the Inkscape-only or Illustrator only people can't... AnonMoos (talk) 01:04, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
P.S. A word of general advice -- you often seem to be highly agitated about something or other, but have great difficulty in explaining to others what the cause of your agitation is and/or why it should be considered important. If you continue in exactly this way, you could find yourself burning out and/or wearing out your welcome here. AnonMoos (talk) 20:12, 25 June 2012 (UTC
- Ask what you like to know. Don't expect that others guess what you want to know. If I see the still not-existing response (from the responsible people!) concerning my proposal for diff-tools for SVG-files and the SVG-rendering-bugs notice I wonder how wikipedia want to improve quality and attracte more experts. Here I miss "agitation" from the other side. Achim1999 (talk) 22:30, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
- Half the time people can't tell whether you're arguing that diff-tools would be necessary for SVG editing or unnecessary for SVG editing, which is part of the problem -- strong advocacy combined with a certain confusion about the details of what is being advocated for... AnonMoos (talk) 01:04, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
P.P.S. Please don't go on a binge of resizing national flag SVG images... AnonMoos (talk) 20:12, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
- Could you please formulate this without using "slang", such that I can understand you? Precise wording is of much help. ;) Achim1999 (talk) 22:30, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
- Binge, spree, kick, whatever -- don't go resizing numerous SVG national flag images, when others are still very unclear as to why you're agitated about convenience links for reusers to various size renderings. AnonMoos (talk) 01:04, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
- Please use (always) precise wording such that other know what you mean. E. g. Don't reason with "when others are still very unclear" a very foggy formulation , which interpretation is up to you. :-(
- Until now, I haven't changed any default sizes simply because I don't know how this can be done, and who is responsible for this.
- I would prefer more objective reasoning to this subject by you like I did it in File:Flag_of_Iran.svg#general comments (if you think I miss important considerations). I get the feeling you are either unwilling or unable to contribute about "reasonable, usefull" default sizes. If I'm wrong then I will be happy to notice the opposite. ;)
- Achim1999 (talk) 09:16, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

- BTW: I think wikimedia is profiting much more form my contributions than I do from wikimedia by supporting it with (hopefully) high qualitative content (and perhaps design). If I get not the things I call important (because of too many educational and emotional human deficits (sorry) here on qualitative work which prefer subjective priorities regarding presenting and depressing facts), I will simply drop sharply further contributions to wikimedia as I did 2 or 3 years ago in wikipedia. So simple, sorry. Achim1999 (talk) 22:30, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
It seems like the more agitated you are, the less you can intelligibly and comprehensibly explain the cause of your agitation, which leaves me rather at a loss for a reply. AnonMoos (talk) 18:48, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
- Well, the developers wanted to have a complete new explanation, but then sprang faster in action as I could react! :-)
- So, there are others who know what to do what I wanted. And agitation is no problem for them! Nor I needed discussion for days or further reasoning. ;)
- Nevertheless, thanks for the correct final pointer to the mailing-list. Achim1999 (talk) 19:36, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
- Glad they were able to understand you, because many of us here on Commons sure couldn't... AnonMoos (talk) 22:27, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
Templates
editHave no idea what Template:HQSG is, but "HandSVG" and "ValidSVG" can provide useful information... AnonMoos (talk) 18:48, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
- A very diplomatic, but meaningless answer. :-) Achim1999 (talk) 19:42, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
- Only if you are interested, I invented it, Category:Structured SVG. Achim1999 (talk) 19:40, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
- Template:HQSG doesn't conform to standard template rules; it should use <noinclude> to avoid adding itself to the category, have some visible output (conventionally text in a non-red-colored box), etc. You might want to try to coordinate your efforts with User:Sarang... AnonMoos (talk) 22:27, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

-- sarang♥사랑 14:36, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
White line in the middle of the emblem of the Islamic Republic of Iran
editHi Please click Troubleshooting. http://fa.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D9%BE%D8%B1%D9%88%D9%86%D8%AF%D9%87:Coat_of_arms_of_Iran.svg Sam esfid (talk) 08:24, 18 September 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, I see no problem with this image with my eyes. I inserted MY CREATED EMBLEM also into the Iranian National flag. Moreover I remember that I did not simply mirror the image halves, but also make an OVERLAP to avoid a possible tiny, 1 pixel thin white background line in the center! Look into the code on commons.wikimedia. I don't know what your are doing on fa.wikipedia.org -- but I know you already made much trouble by not articulate what you precisely want/mean. Maybe you used/copied an older version? Look into the SVG code for a proof of my words -- compare it with the code of the Iranian National flag. Look at these guys NOT commenting their changes at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File_talk:Flag_of_Iran.svg . :-( Achim1999 (talk) 20:03, 19 September 2012 (UTC)
