Hi, you recently uploaded this image. Can you make the specification of the source a little bit more exact? People have a tendency to slap "NASA" on every image that seems to be space related, even though some are not. Can you add to the image from which specific NASA source this image was downloaded? Borrado de categorías

Estimado Assar: te ruego que no borres más categorías como has hecho, entre otras categorías, con Cathedrals in the Basque Country[2]. Es completamente distinto, dado que se ha elegido por votación que en Commons Basque Country incluye los territorios en Francia y en España de Basse Navarre, Labourde, Navarra y Treviño, añadir la categoría Category:Cathedrals in France que simplemente borrar Category:Cathedrals in Spain. De esta manera, además de la localización de dichas catedrales se pierde el acceso de quien quiera a través de la categoría Cathedrals. Colour tweaks in File:Txindokitik ekialdera.JPG

Hi Assar, Thanks for your interests in the pictures I uploaded. I liked the tweak in another Aralar picture. However, in your last tweak on the above mentioned the outcome is worse than the original. Admittedly, the problem is often little contrast in my photos, but by adding more contrast is has created dark areas where before was perfectly neat and natural (the shade over the formation in the foreground and the hikers' colours). Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Condado de Treviño

Hello Assar, thank you for your message. I really have no desire to get involved in any linguistic war but I disagree in the case of Condado de Treviño. Condado de Treviño is a municipality and its official name is Condado de Treviño, in Castilian Spanish. The names of municipalities are not translated into English. Even in the English wiki the name of the article is Condado de Treviño. That is the name that should be used in the relevant commons category.

The case of the Category:Enclave of Treviño is different. That is named correctly in English, because "enclave" is a common term, as opposed to the official name of a municipality.

A similar case would be Category:La Puebla de Arganzón, where the official name is correctly used. The name of this municipality is different in Basque, Argantzun, and that doesn't mean that the category should be named "The Village of Arganzón". County of Treviño is not a historic name that would justify its translation into English. Please, do reconsider reverting your edits.

La Escultura que hace mención al “Contencioso de Treviño” ”Disputa del enclave de Treviño” y “Trebiñoko auzia” se denomina “TRIFINIUM” El autor de la obra es JOSEBA LORZA LOPEZ Nació en Vitoria 8/8/1957 y Falleció 17/02/2014.
