HKNeedImprovement1-cloned.tif

edit

As I write this it is 90% uploaded to http://carol.gimp.org/GIMP/2008/Jun/HKNeedImprovement1-cloned.tif -- it just finished. GIMP warned me that it was opening a 16 bit image so I don't know how well my tif will blend with yours. I have no experience with this and as I said earlier and elsewhere, my eyes and reading haven't seen much to show or explain the difference.

This was definately more complicated so if you think there are spots or even the whole thing that should be redone -- yours will be the second eyes to see it (not really but as far as determining good enough from needs help they are) let me know. It should be a beautiful image when it is put together. -- carol (talk) 11:09, 15 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi, good to hear from you. Thanks for your hard work, may I ask is it possible to smoothen the edges of the circular healing mark?
If I use the the you sent to me, it will be like that, when the pano is merged.
By the way, I have a discovery, I found a segment that is not blended: right HERE, this would give you an idea of the brightness. The lower right hand corner matches the first TIFF I gave to you. --βαςεLXIV 12:37, 15 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

::I mean, are you able to make the light-direction of the the blown advertisement' on top of the building "shine upward" instead of shining "left-upward"? Thank you so much --βαςεLXIV 12:41, 15 June 2008 (UTC) Reply

HEY HEY, I did another great thing, I used the TIFF you cloned and I put a 50% opacity layer of the original segments, then I cloned the borders out, then: It turned this!!!!!! . I'll upload the FINAL pano soon. --βαςεLXIV 13:58, 15 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Finished!! HERE IS THE PRODUCT:

I will add descriptions later.

It looks like you were busy and productive while I slept. That is a beautiful image, the layer thing seems to have worked very very well. I am often not so fond of HDR images (and that is what this is?) but this is just about the most perfect use of whatever that is. I should read up on that to see if there are other uses for it. Giving me something to clone from should have been good had I been awake for it :)

Oh well, you're at UTC-8(without DST) and I'm at UTC+8, it's nice working with you.
By the way, I've nominated it to COM:FPC, and COM:QIC. I didn't nom it to EN WP because I'm not sure about the reaction. May I ask, what do you think about it?--βαςεLXIV 09:07, 16 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

image and web page stats

edit

I rarely look at web page stats, my own and others. That being said, I looked today at the wiki stats. The edit of your image is 514 in the list of traffic here in between an actual car image (a BMW) and an image whose name sounds like the car Volvo but is actually more of the subject which is the greatest amount of image page traffic here.

Any idea the reason it would rank so high? -- carol (talk) 18:29, 22 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

What do you mean by "Edit"? Where do you see the stats? --Base64 (talk) 04:23, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
I got that wrong. It is "Restitch" and it wasn't 514, that was the number of hits. Today it is 327 with 471 hits. I look at this list and know that I am not like most people, I guess.... -- carol (talk) 13:05, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I thought that a little added saturation and sharpness will benefit your image. So I uploaded the new version no top of it without your permission. It's nothing major, but If you don't like it, please feel free to revert it back. I'm sorry if it's not better. But I thought uploading a new file for a minor edit is useless.

Have a nice day! --Arad (talk) 18:16, 2 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

simply a nice experience

edit

I cannot thank you enough for allowing me (and working with my software things) to edit that image of yours (the POTD today). While I feel badly when I remember that you needed to finish the edit of it -- it has really been just a nice experience from then through today when I get to smile when I see it on the Main Page.

For your hand in this, the photography, the stitching, the perfect use of an often abused special effect -- allowing me to do anything with it was quite a privilege. Knowing it is here and there will always be access to it to show how and when and how much to apply affects towards the improvement of what might already be a perfectly good photograph. All of these things just make a longer list of reasons to continue to enjoy this.

So, simply, thank you for this image and allowing my participation with it! -- carol (talk) 19:34, 7 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
