editHi Nick, I noticed your discussion at Commons:Help_desk/Archive/2011/10#how_add_another_kind_of_information_to_a_few_images. As an answer, you could start to document the use of fist in Feminism symbols on w:clenched fist, and it is possible to create a commons:Gallery page here on commons, where you can put a common description, but it does need to be brief - one paragraph at most.
I suspect you may be interested and able to help with the discussion at Commons:Deletion_requests/File:Womanpower_logo.svg. John Vandenberg (chat) 03:44, 5 September 2012 (UTC)
- I took up your suggestion and added sourcing to Wikipedia on fist imagery.
- I didn' t think there was much I could add on the discussion about what to do with the image, since they evidently wanted to keep something like it and simply not violate a copyright, which is fine with me.
- A template might be needed (I haven't kept up with that issue, so maybe things have changed since then) so that when we look at a Commons image we can be apprised of relevant matters not covered by the existing format of the image file pages, while keeping those relevant matters in one location and referenced from several file pages. But maybe what I had in mind was too complicated to implement anyway, because someone would have to go around and do a lot of cross-referential tagging.
- Thanks for the heads-up. Nick Levinson (talk) 15:31, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
