Autopatrol given
editHello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. --Didym (talk) 14:33, 20 March 2020 (UTC)

Requested photos
editI am not sure if you are aware but Wikipedia articles are often tagged on their Talk pages as needing photos. These photo requests are organised by local government areas, so e.g. this list is for Rockhampton Region. If you click through onto the Talk page of the individual artile, you can see if it's a generic request for any photo about the topic (the usual case) or whether it's very specific (e.g. a particular thing mentioned in the article). And of course it never hurts to check what photos are already in the article as sometimes people add photos but forget to remove the reqphoto tag on the Talk page. File:Harry MiMi mural Rocky.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |
Great to see so many photos of regional Queensland!
editHowever, you are going a bit overboard with the categorisation (that is, making too much work for yourself). To take a recent upload as an example, one of the photos of the Rockhampton AnzacDay Parade:
it would be sufficient to categorise it as Category:Rockhampton, Queensland and Category:Anzac Day parades in Queensland. There is no need to add categories for the Rockhampton Region as the categories are organised as a hierarchy, so anything added to the Rockhampton category is automatically within the Rockhampton Region category which in turn is automatically in the Central Queensland category, so you didn't need to add Rockhampton Region or Central Queensland categories. So it's sufficient to categorise things as the most precise location category and the most precise type-of-thing category and let the category hierarchy take care of the rest. This makes it less work for you to upload your photos! Kerry Raymond (talk) 06:57, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
