English: The National Gallery of Art — an art museum, located on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

The museum was established in 1937 by the United States Congress. Funds for construction and a substantial art collection were donated by Andrew W. Mellon.
The West Building, by architect John Russell Pope, was completed in 1941.
The East Building, by architect I. M. Pei, was completed in 1978.
