editDescriptionMercury - Skin - 42041654271.jpg |
English: Cutaneous mercury granuloma is a rare disorder caused by the introduction of elemental Hg into skin. Metallic mercury in tissue appears as black, opaque, spherical globules of varying size. They provoke a granulomatous foreign-body reaction composed of foreign body giant cells, granulomas and a mixed inflammatory infiltrate. The method of introduction could be skin penetration by a mercury-containing object, the use of mercury-containing medication to treat an open wound and likely others. |
