Description
English: Circuit diagram of a push-pull DC to DC converter. This is used in battery-powered electronic devices such as laptops to convert DC power to a higher voltage. The switches (left) represent pairs of switching transistors, with the driving circuits omitted. They are switched simultaneously at a high frequency of 10 - 80 kHz They switch the DC input current through the transformer primary in alternate directions, so the primary current is a square wave. The secondary current is rectified to DC by the diode bridge rectifier (right)
