Русский: Картина представляет собой эффектное живописное зрелище. В ней соединены изображения конкретных исторических лиц и вольная фантазия художника, условность колорита, декоративность композиции и документально точные детали. Полотно было призвано прославить победы русского оружия в первой русско-турецкой войне (1768–1774). В триумфальной колеснице, окруженная аллегорическими изображениями благодарных народов, населявших южные рубежи Российской империи, восседает Екатерина II в виде богини Минервы. Парящие в небесах крылатые создания трубят ей славу и венчают лавровым венком. Екатерину сопровождают воины –ближайшие сподвижники, первые кавалеры ордена Св. Георгия: П.А.Румянцев, А.Г.Орлов, П.И.Панин, В.М.Долгорукий, Н.В.Репнин и Ф.Г.Орлов. Возглавляет шествие Г.Г.Орлов – фаворит императрицы. Он изображен перед колесницей Екатерины с бриллиантовым портретом государыни на груди.
