Description

Off Point Judith, Rhode Island. The US Coast Guard-manned frigate USS Moberly lands a circular pattern of Hedgehog depth charges against German submarine U-853. Working with three navy vessels, the Coast Guard ship destroyed the submarine. The Moberly operated as a unit of the Atlantic Fleet.
