Mysterious pair of guests
editThanks, Cmao20, for your sharp eyes. They already allow us to confirm that these two newcomers know each other. Ping @Aristeas, Yann, SHB2000, W.carter, and A.Savin: we know that:
- These participants "decided to create" their accounts together
- They seem focused on "nationalities", with The American Person and the "Cape Verdean" person Green Cabo.
- They immediately start Commons with new nominations at FPC.
- They nominate 4 candidates together, that are, chronogically:
- 1) 18:07, 2 January 2025: A landscape of Cape Verde;
- 2) 18:13, 2 January 2025: A singer in concert in Brazil (SĂŁo Paulo);
- 3) 20:37, 2 January 2025: A politician of America;
- 4) 04:05, 3 January 2025: A cartoon;

- Hmm, I wonder whom it could be â totally couldn't be the same person with the username of a geometric shape, could it? (I think this can be duck blocked or should be CUed if need be) --SHB2000 (talk) 04:59, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think it is highly likely to be Arion. I was going to fill in a checkuser request later today but if a straightforward block is the right policy then thatâs good too. I feel like his idea with the Aliphotography account was to try to make us think he was connected to a different country, then transition into Brazil-related content later. This might just be repeating the trick with different countriesâŚand both accounts created shortly after the previous sock is found and blocked. Tells a clear story to me unfortunately. - Perhaps the four candidates (a lot in the same time :-)) should be immediately archived until the situation is clarified?
- I also wonder if a friend could have helped in this case, otherwise it's a bit too obvious. But let's see Commons:Requests for checkuser/Case/ArionStar. Thanks, SHB2000, for the initiative. -- Basile Morin (talk) 05:51, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- â ď¸ Confirmed by Krd. Just too obvious, then. Well... perhaps a big fun? -- Basile Morin (talk) 08:56, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- I mean they're not even doing a great job at hiding their sockpuppets either lol. Well unless ArionStar's intention is for us to play whack-a-mole with their sockpuppets. --SHB2000 (talk) 09:15, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- Indeed. Very frustrating because it shows that all of Arionâs promises to change - e.g. not to break the two nomination rule - were just deceit so he could get unblocked (he had four up at once with these socks!) Vandalism of FPC by spamming it with poor material, honestly. It makes me sad because there shouldnât necessarily be anything wrong with creating an account and immediately joining FPC. This is what I did in 2019. But for now we have to be a little bit suspicious. Hopefully heâll stop this soon. Cmao20 (talk) 12:28, 3 January 2025 (UTC)

Btw, I manually archived the four nominations because they are just cluttering up the candidate list and getting in the way of genuine nominations. Just a note for transparency. Cmao20 (talk) 17:48, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
