Synopsis for "Soul Search"
Superman fights for control with the entity possessing him. He expels the entity, who is revealed to be Neron. Neron grabs the Spear of Destiny and enters the Spectre. Inside the Spectre, Aztar judges Hal Jordan, Asmodel, and Neron to decide who is worthy of his power. Aztar chooses Jordan as his penance for past actions. Jim Corrigan's spirit appears as an emissary of The Presence. He sends Neron to Hell where he’s demoted to a rhyming demon. It is revealed that this was Etrigan’s plan all along. Corrigan takes Asmodel to Heaven in chains. The new Spectre (Hal Jordan) restores the damage to New York and departs. The Quintessence is left to wonder about the ramifications of Asmodel's imprisonment, as Hell can no longer be trusted to keep Heaven's prisoners.
