Synopsis for "Waking the Sandman, Part Two: Night Terrors"
A crowd gathers around the JSA Brownstone to inspect the mysterious "JSA" engraved into the floor. Inside the headquarters Doctor Mid-Nite stands over the six members of the JSA who entered Sanderson Hawkins' dream when Hawkgirl begins to cough up sand and Brainwave appears telling him that their dream wounds are manifesting in the real world but waking them up prematurely would cause permanent entrapment within dream-world.
Inside the dream Sanderson—under the guise of the original Sandman—begins to defend himself his team-mates whilst Doctor Fate and Fury begin to recover memories of this dreamscape. Brainwave temporarily stops Sand but he recovers and summons his "bad dreams"; Brute and Glob of the Dreaming. The team initially struggle against Sand's new allies but Dr Fate remembers that the two previously attempted to use him as a puppet for their misdeeds[1][2] and the two demons were punished by being banished to a dimension of happiness and childhood fantasises.
Underground the other members of the JSA and Cave Carson's Team begin to attack the golems which were surrounding them.[3] The team spot Sand in a magma-like state embedded in the rock repeating "J...S...A..." when Power Girl drags him up to the surface, though Wildcat warns her of the danger of the heat.
Ultimately, realising why Doctor Fate needed her there, Kendra takes off her helmet to shock Sand into awakening in a hospital bed whereupon he immediately kisses Kendra, though this too is a dream and the two catch up. Wildcat pays a visit to Power Girl's room and hands her a picture of her and the team, thus giving her the sense of belonging which she felt she lacked. At a celebratory party Hourman faces his fears and visits his wife.
