Synopsis for "The Brave and the Bold"
The Earth is in peril and the Titans are nowhere to be found. Dozens of parallel Earths appear above the planet, channeling forth from a dimensional breach. Superboy teams up with Nightwing and together they prepare to journey to the Arctic fortress where Alexander Luthor has been constructing his ultimate device.
Superboy is uncomfortable around Nightwing because he feels the senior hero doesn't trust him. Ironically, Nightwing inwardly wishes that Superboy would have more confidence in himself.
On their way north, they stop at Victoria Island in Vancouver, Canada to help out the survivors of a sinking passenger ship. One of the ship's engines explodes rocketing Nightwing into the freezing waters. Superboy quickly fishes him out, but Dick's body is in shock from the sudden change in temperature.
One quick costume change later, and Dick and Superboy are on their way again. They discuss each other's recent problems, and Superboy theorizes that this Crisis may be the event which will ultimately cause the Titans to turn evil (as revealed in a possible future timeline). Dick reassures him that the future is never written in stone and that everyone is the master of their own fate.
Before long they arrive at Alexander Luthor's citadel.
