The Contest is a Wonder Woman storyline written by William Messner-Loebs with illustrations by Mike Deodato, Jr.. Loebs returns to the Wonder Woman series after a short run by Christopher Priest. This story continues in Loebs' final arc The Challenge of Artemis. The plot involves Hippolyta having a premonition that Wonder Woman will die. Hippolyta holds a contest, and Diana loses her title as Wonder Woman to Artemis.
