Bastemon is a Beastkin Digimon. It loves to be showy and has a sly personality, and its specialty is using its charmingly sparkling eyes and the jewels worn all over its body to bewitch the opponent, allowing it to manipulate them as it desires. Generally, if one becomes the victim of Bastemon's glamour, they are completely eviscerated. Although it excels in nimbleness with its flexible movements, it is also powerful despite its appearance, and the claws on its hands are sharp enough to cut even a rock to pieces. It is said to be at loggerheads with Nefertimon, who is an avatar of light.[4]

Attacks

  • Witch Warp[5] (Helter Skelter): Beguiles the opponent with the bewitching charms of its belly dance. In Digimon World 3, this attack causes Digimon to de-digivolve back into their Rookie stage.
  • Mind Fogger[6] (Vampire Dance): Gets close to the opponent while dancing, then sucks out all the blood in their body, down to the last drop.
  • Vampire Jewel (きゅうけつアメジスト, Kyūketsu Amejisuto?, lit. "Vampire Amethyst")

Design

Bastemon resembles a humanoid nekomata dressed in a form of Egyptian badlah. Its therianthrope design and Egyptian aesthetic are inspired by Bastet, an Egyptian cat-headed goddess, and its "Mind Fogger" and "Vampire Jewel" attacks may be inspired by the Vampire Cat of Nabeshima.

Bastemon has light brown skin with fur like a bengal cat, purple eyes, and long, braided red hair collected in a hair ornament tipped with a large diamond. Its arms are long and gangly, and both its arm and leg paws have lengthy, magenta claws. It wears a lavender yashmak, red crescent-shaped pasties, leopard-print şalvar, and a henna mehndi on its bare midriff. In

Bastemon wears a large assortment of jewelry, including a simple gold diadem with a crimson jewel, gold disc earrings, a carnelian necklace, a gold hinged bracelet with an azure jewel around its upper arm, many gold bangles around its forearms, ankles, and tails, many gold and crimson-jeweled signet rings on each finger and toe, gold bands with crimson jewels around its forefeet, ornate gold finger stalls, gold girdles, and a gold Cleopatra belt.

In episodes 10 through 14 of Digimon Fusion, Bastemon's pasties are replaced with a yellow bandeau. In episode 22 onward, this bandeau is colored red, and in the Digimon Fusion Collectible Card Game, Digimon Fusion Fighters, and Digimon New Century, the red bandeau is given a gold trim.
