Pocket Digimon World (ポケットデジモンワールド, Poketto Dejimon Wārudo^?) is a role-playing video game developed and published by Bandai in Japan on June 29, 2000 for the PlayStation. It is one of the few games compatible with the PocketStation. It received two expansions, Pocket Digimon World: Wind Battle Disc (ポケットデジモンワールド ウインドバトルディスク, Poketto Dejimon Wārudo Uindo Batoru Disuku^?) on October 6, 2000 and Pocket Digimon World: Cool & Nature Battle Disc (ポケットデジモンワールド クール&ネイチャーバトルディスク, Poketto Dejimon Wārudo Kuuru & Neichā Batoru Disuku^?) on February 22, 2001. Each disc comes with different playable Digimon.

Story

Jijimon opens a Digimon Museum in the Digital World, showcasing history and artefacts of the Digital World. However, evil Digimon steal the exhibits. Jijimon enlists the help of a Digimon Tamer to recover the exhibits. The exhibits consist of art, music, and Digimon data.

Gameplay

Five Digi-Eggs can be downloaded to a PlaySation memory card, though only one can be downloaded to a Pocket Station and the Digi-Eggs will be received in Jijimon's House. The Digimon must then be raised through training and battling on File Island.

There is a Colosseum feature with multi-player, in which players can fight against each other or CPU opponents.

Digimon raised in Pocket Digimon World can be transferred into Digimon World 2. This is one of the ways for Japanese players of Digimon World 2 to obtain a Kimeramon.

By defeating boss Digimon — Film, Photo, Data Pack, Opponents in the Arena, and Memory Fragments can be obtained. Films are CG movie that can replace the opening cutscene. The Data Pack consists of data that can be used to unlock more Digimon in D-1 Grand Prix, a mini-game featuring Polygon Battles that are compatible with the WonderSwan.

Factorial Town can only be accessed with the original disc, Freezeland can only be access in Cool & Nature, and Geko Swamp can only be accessed in Wind.
