Background
Personality
At first glance Carina seems to be tolerate with her master the Collector forcing a smile on her face whenever she greets her master's guests. Despite her friendly, cheerful, pleasant, sweet personality Carina secretly despises her boss because the negative treatment of her and of her predecessors. Carina might seem faithful and loyal to her master and will even come to his defense but she secretly hides the truth about how she wants him dead and to be free from his cruelty.
Despite wanting to be free and wanting her employer dead she is scared of him. Her fear is seen when the Collector tells Carina what will happen to her if his clean isn't keep clean and looking nice. Despite how badly he treats her Carina knows if Taneleer isn't satisfied with her work if their is a mistake she knows Taneleer will make things much worse for her. With her pleasant adutide it seemed like Carina was ok with her master's work but she actually really disproved of what her boss did to living things he kept in his collection.
What Carina really wanted was to see her master's life work be destroyed and hoped that he would eventually lose everything. Carina wanted to rebel against her master to finally have a way to stand up to him, be free and to tell him that he no longer has control over her. She was tired of living a life of misery, desperation, depression, stress and fear. Carina wanted some way to reverse things and finally let her master know what it's like to live the life she was forced to live everyday.
As much as Carina secretly disliked the Collector and the way he treats other lifeforms. Carina is curious about some of the objects that her master has in his collection wanting to out want some of the objects are capable of. Aside from her curiosity and her resentment of her master Carina sometimes finds the courage to defiey her master.

Thor: The Dark World
In a mid-credits scene, Carina presented Sif and Volstagg to the Collector when they brought the Aether. When the Asgardians left the museum, Tivan revealed to her that its purpose is to get the six Infinity Stones.
Guardians of the Galaxy
Carina is first seen sitting down when the Collector threatens if she doesn't get to work, she'll end up with a similar fate to a past assistant to the Collector, who is in a cage. After being reminded what happened to the last assistant Carina gets to work and beings cleaning the cages in the museum.
When the Guardians first arrive at Knowhere Carina choses to make Tivan's guest wait. After waiting to see the Collector to get their payment Rocket and Drax get into fight causing Drax to walk. Carina finally appears inviting Gamora to meet the Collector Gamora and her friends follow Carina into the museum as Carina leads the Guardians to Tivan after they are introduced the Collector Carina steps back and overwatches as he explains to the Guardians about the Infinity Stones. After giving his presentation Tivan prepares to pay the Guardians for their work but to his surprise Carina has become tempted by the Orb and reaches for it claiming that she would no longer be the Collector's slave. Not understanding it's full power and wanting to take it for herself Carina garbs it then to her surprise realizes that she cannot handle the power of the Stone and is destroyed.
What If...?
Season 1
The alternate Carina first appeared in "What If... T'Challa Became a Star-Lord?", and like her Sacred Timeline counterpart, she was forced to work for the Collector as his slave.
Season 3
Another Carina appears in "What If...Howard the Duck Got Hitched?" where she serves Kaecilius of the Zealots after he imprisoned the Collector in the Mirror Dimension.
