Lihue Airport is a state-owned public-use airport located in the Līhuʻe CDP on the southeast coast of the Hawaiian island of Kauaʻi. The airport itself was originally going to be shown in Lilo & Stitch in a deleted scene where Stitch hijacks a Tsunami Air Boeing 747 so that he can fly it to Honolulu in order to save Lilo, who had been accidentally kidnapped by Gantu. However, after the September 11, 2001 attacks, the hijacking was scrapped in favor of having Stitch, Jumba, Pleakley, and Nani fly in Jumba's spaceship, which caused the airport to be removed from the film altogether.
Lilo & Stitch: The Series would feature a modified and somewhat genericized representation of the airport in a few episodes, calling it Kauai Airport.
