Madeline Gail Kahn was an American actress, comedian, singer, and voice-over artist. While best known for her comedic roles in films, such as What's Up, Doc? (1972), Young Frankenstein (1974), High Anxiety (1977), History of the World, Part I (1981), and An American Tail (1986), Kahn received an Academy Award nomination for her performance in Paper Moon (1973) and Blazing Saddles (1974).
For Disney, she voiced Gypsy in the 1998 Disney/Pixar film A Bug's Life and played Martha Mitchell in Nixon, Lola Hopper in Betsy's Wedding, and Pigeon Plumtree in Road to Avonlea.
She also guest-starred on The Muppet Show, appeared in The Muppet Movie and even on Sesame Street.
