Namor

In one week's time, I will return with my entire army, and you will join us against the surface world, or I will wash Wakanda from the face of the Earth!Namor after drowning Ramonda to death

Namor, also known as K'uk'ulkan, and born as Ch'ah Toh Almehen, is a Marvel Comics character who debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, serving as the main antagonist. He is the king of Talokan and a mutant. Namor is drawn to the surface by the ramifications of T'Challa's decision to reveal the truth of Wakanda to the world, which puts Talokan in jeopardy.

Namor was created by Bill Everett.

Background

Before Namor was born, his village was raided by Spanish conquistadors, who brought lethal diseases to the Natives there, such as smallpox. At one time, nearly everyone in the village had smallpox somewhere on their body. This caused the village's priest to pray to their god, who led him to a glowing herb located at the bottom of a pool. He took the herb and ground it up into a liquid and told the people to drink. Namor's mother, Fen, was pregnant with him at the time and declined to drink it, fearing the consequences it would bring her baby, but the priest was able to persuade her to drink it. The liquid temporarily knocked out the villagers. After a while, they woke up, though they were not able to breathe, due to the fact that the liquid mutated their bodies to make them not be able to breathe air and retreated to the ocean.

Fen gave birth to Namor shortly after, in 1571 underwater. Unlike the villagers, Namor was able to breathe in water as well as on land, though only for a short period of time, and became a mutant.

Due to being a mutant, Namor's aging was vastly slowed down, and he was born with pointed ears. He also grew small wings on the ankles of his feet, giving him the ability to fly. Several years after retreating into the ocean, his mother died. Before her death, she requested that she be buried on land. Namor, along with several others, went up to the surface to the location of their former village. Namor saw that the village had changed drastically, becoming a plantation, with the remaining Mayan people being used as slaves. Angered by what he saw, he ordered his men to attack the village, burning down the main building. As Namor looked around, a dying Catholic monk called him a devil and cursed him, calling him "El Niño sin Amor": "The child without love". Namor was born as Ch'ah Toh Almehen and called K'uk'ulkan by his people. He decided that his enemies would call him Namor.

After seeing the horrors the surface world brought, Namor vowed that he would destroy the surface world.

Namor's kingdom, which he named Talokan, grew in size and became a massive underwater nation, with soldiers more skilled than the Wakandans and numbers greater than the United States army.

Physical appearance

Namor is a tall, muscular man, who appears to be in his thirties, though in reality, he is over four hundred years old by the events of his main appearance, and only appears young due to his delayed aging. He is of Mayan descent and wears clothes inspired by Mayan fashion. He also has small wings on his ankles, which give him the ability to fly and pointed ears.

Centuries later, a scientist invented a device that could locate Vibranium. Due to the high amount of Vibranium in Talokan, the device was able to locate some of it. Threatened, Namor, along with a handful of the Talokanil, attacked the ship sent out for the mission and killed everyone on board.

Later, he was able to enter the highly guarded Wakanda and met Ramonda and Shuri while they were doing a ritual. Frightened, Ramonda asked how he had gotten through Wakanda's defenses. He said that T'Challa's decision to reveal Vibranium to the outside world threatened the Talokanil people and asked them to kill the scientist behind the Vibranium detector so they could not make more. He also asked them to blow into a conk shell to inform him that the deed was done.

His loyal soldiers named Attuma and Namora were successfully able to bring Shuri and the scientist, Riri Williams, to Talokan. After they arrived, Namor requested to speak to Shuri alone and told her his story and how he came to hate the surface world.

They later went deeper into Talokan, with Namor showing her the inhabitants of the city, along with all the buildings. As they sat on a ledge, he explained to Shuri that it was necessary to kill Williams due to the threat she posed to them. Shuri disagreed, saying that Riri was just a college student. Namor also told Shuri his plans to invade the surface world and destroy all countries and also told Shuri he needed to know if Wakanda was an ally or enemy to them.

After finding out that Shuri was in Talokan, Ramonda called Namor for a negotiation in Cape Verde. Namor refused to give Shuri back and declined an offer to trade something for her. Ramonda threatened him by saying she would reveal Talokan to the United States government, but Namor said if she did, he would kill her and Shuri.

While in Cape Verde, Nakia was able to infiltrate Talokan's defenses and rescue Shuri and Riri, and also shot one of Namor's soldiers, who later died in Namor's arms. Realizing the meeting with Ramonda was a way to lure Namor away from Talokan, he gave a speech to his people and declared a war against Wakanda.

Namor and his army were then able to enter Wakanda and began attacking the city. While his back was turned, a Wakandan named M'Baku attempted to hit Namor with his club, though Namor sensed the attack and broke M'Baku's weapon and punched him in the chest, breaking his armor, and sending him flying. Angered, Namor told his soldiers to start attacking civilians.

Namor then went to the Citadel, with Ramonda looking out the window. Namor ran into the window, expecting it to shatter, though it did not, and Ramonda continued to stand, unphased. He repeatedly ran into the window, and little by little it began to crack. Seeing so, Ramonda told Riri (who was also in the room) to leave. Namor then gave up running into the window, and threw multiple Talokanil Hydrobombs at it, which caused the window to shatter. The Hyrdobombs were filled with water, which made a shallow pool in the throne room. Ramonda drowned in the pool, and Namor told the Wakandans in the room that he would return in one week with his entire army if Wakanda did not agree to help him in his conquest to wipe out all surface nations.

While fidgeting with the conk shell he gave Ramonda and Shuri, Attuma and Namora informed him that there was another Vibranium detector in the ocean. Angered, he gathered up his forces to destroy the device, but when he arrived, he was met with a loud pulse that temporarily deafened him and his soldiers. He was able to tell his soldiers to rise to the surface, though when they did, they saw a disguised Wakandan ship, revealing an ambush.

He first went after an aircraft, slicing it and then throwing the remains at the ship. Riri, now going under the mantle Ironheart, began to attack him, though he was hit by another aircraft, which trapped him inside of it. Inside, he saw Shuri, who now was the new Black Panther. The ship began blasting heat rays, which drained him of his energy. He began slicing his spear into the aircraft, which caused it to malfunction and later crashed into a beach, causing Shuri and Namor to be violently thrown out of the aircraft.

The two began exchanging blows on the beach, with Shuri ripping out one of his ankle wings. Namor was then able to pin Shuri against a stone, where the two again exchanged punches and kicks. Namor was able to retrieve his spear and critically impaled Shuri with it. Expecting her to die of her injuries, he left her to regain his strength from the ocean. While his back was turned, Shuri was able to painfully take the spear out and made an explosion, which threw Namor to the ground and burned his back. Dehydrated and unable to move, Namor lay on the ground, with Shuri pointing the spear to his neck. Instead of killing him, Shuri gave him a chance to live if he yielded, and also said she would destroy Talokan if he didn't. Namor agreed, and together they rode back to the battle, where Namor told his forces to retreat.

After the battle, Namor began painting his room when Namora asked him why he had formed an alliance with Wakanda. In response, he told her that there would be a time when Talokan would engage in battles with the nations of the surface world and told her that Wakanda would help them.
