"The Heebie Jeebies" is an episode of Wander Over Yonder.

Synopsis

Wander and Sylvia search a creepy forest planet for a mystical power, but find something far more terrifying.

Plot

Wander and Sylvia arrive on a planet covered in a dark and scary forest. Sylvia explains through a scroll they found that they have to go through the forest to find a special power that will help them defeat Lord Dominator. To her surprise, Wander is fearful and does not want to enter; suggesting that a Frankenstein lives in the woods. A Frankenstein is in the woods, but flees as he too is afraid. Sylvia tells Wander that there is nothing to worry about and that they will go in and find the power.

Wander is frightened by various noises that Sylvia tries to justify, but soon he begins to see a Phantom Mime dancing as creepy gramophone music plays. Only Wander sees him, later them, but Sylvia is completely oblivious. Sylvia has Wander play a song to keep his spirits up, but he sees more Phantom Mimes and Sylvia finally settles him in so they can sleep for the night. Wander begins to have nightmares about seeing the Phantom Mimes' face appearing on his friends. He wakes up several times until he finds that it is morning and that Sylvia has found the power, but this too turns out to be a dream.

Eventually, Wander runs away again after seeing the Phantom Mimes and Sylvia starts seeing them too until they are surrounded. Both of them agree that they will protect one another, causing the Phantom Mimes to slowly vanish. They realize that they only appear when they are afraid and manage to conquer them. In the morning Wander and Sylvia realize that the power was that of friendship and that with that in mind, they can definitely conquer Dominator. As Wander ponders if anyone else will come to that conclusion, the music can be heard followed by a jump scare of the Phantom Mime.

End Credits

A clip of the Phantom Mimes is shown as the gramophone-type music is heard.

• The song Wander sings to try to calm himself down is a parody of "My Favorite Things" from the popular Tony/Oscar winning musical/movie "The Sound of Music."
• The Wilhelm Warbler that Wander finds in the spooky forest parodies the use of the Wilhelm scream.
  • This is the third episode to use the Wilhelm Scream after "The Picnic" and "The Brainstorm"
