"What If...The Watcher Disappeared?" is the seventh and penultimate episode of the third and final season of the Disney+ streaming television series, What If...?, and the twenty-fifth episode of the series overall. The episode was written by Matthew Chauncey and Ryan Little, after a story by Bryan Andrews, Matthew Chauncey, and Ryan Little and directed by Stephan Franck. It premiered on December 28, 2024.
Synopsis
The Watcher must stand trial for his many interventions.

- It is the second episode of the series to have the Watcher's name in the title after the episode "What If... The Watcher Broke His Oath?".
- Natasha Lyonne plays Byrdie in this episode. (Howard and Darcy's daughter) She makes her MCU debut in this show. She's slated to play an unknown role in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
- This is the first episode in the show where a member of the X-Men appears; in this case, it’s Storm.
- Additionally, the foosball table features several other X-Men characters, such as Wolverine.
- The Infinity Ultron planet murdering montage from "What If... Ultron Won?" plays in this episode.
- This is the first time the show's opening credits change. Instead of Uatu narrating, and his usual narration, it's now being narrated by Eminence. Even the coloring and narration are different.
- Eminence describes themselves as the one who watches the Watchers. This may be a reference to the line, "Who watches the Watchmen?".
- During the trial, Captain Carter's team is referred to as "Exiles". This may be a reference to the comic team of the same name, made up of Multiverse Variants (which features another Captain Carter as part of the 2018 series).

- Byrdie's energy signature readout has the max reading be "Money", featuring a duck with dollar signs in its eyes. This may be a homage to Scrooge McDuck.
