Dark Shenron

Dark Shenron (暗あん黒こく神シェン龍ロン, Ankoku Shenron, lit. "Dark Divine Dragon" or "Dark God Dragon") is the demonic Eternal Dragon of the Dark Dragon Balls.

Appearance

Dark Shenron has a body similar to Porunga, albeit somewhat more slender and not as muscular. His head resembles that of Shenron, Ultimate Shenron, and Black Smoke Shenron in overall shape, but he has a longer mane and long blue lizard-like tongue. Additionally, his appearance is demonic like Black Smoke Shenron's, befitting his origins and the nature of the Dark Dragon Balls that summon him.

Time Breaker Dende creates Dark Shenron

Under the orders of Towa, this version of Shenron was created by the Time Breaker-controlled Xeno Dende as the Eternal Dragon of the Dark Dragon Balls.

Dark Shenron is summoned by Mechikabura above Mechikabura's Tower in the Demon Realm, and is instructed to give him eternal youth. Dark Shenron warns him that the wish will take time to complete due to the size of Mechikabura's former power, and Mechikabura agrees to wait.

When the tower is assaulted by the Time Patrol, who aim to kill Dark Shenron to stop the wish from being granted, Dark Shenron assists Mechikabura, Mira and Dabura as they attempt to stall the group. Ultimately, Dark Shenron is able to complete the wish, and he departs.

Dark King Mechikabura Saga

Dark Shenron is summoned to the Time Nest by Demigra, Robelu and the Time Patrol using darkness-infused Earth Dragon Balls. Xeno Trunks tries to wish for Mechikabura's brainwashing of Chronoa to be undone, but Dark Shenron is unable to directly go against Mechikabura's power. Demigra instead wishes for himself to be given the power to generally undo Mechikabura's mind control, which Dark Shenron is able to complete, though he is only able to give Demigra the ability at close-range.

Dark Shenron is later summoned to Mechikabura's Tower by Mechikabura, who wishes for Dark Shenron to use the Chaos created by Mechikabura using Chronoa's time power to destroy the universe's spacetime. Despite the Time Patrol's best efforts, Dark Shenron is able to carry out Mechikabura's wish.

Power

When first summoned, Dark Shenron's power is so great that it causes time and space to distort. Like Shenron, Dark Shenron possesses the power to grant wishes, he is able to restore Mechikabura to his prime level of power - though he finds this very difficult and so the wish takes a long time to complete. The Dark Dragon Balls needed to summon him spread throughout time and space possessing evil beings and increasing their power. In the manga, he is able to take out Super Saiyan 3 Xeno Trunks in a single blow.

Dark Shenron is able to cause the entire Pseudo Universe to disappear from existence, per the request of the Warrior in Black.

Techniques and Special Abilities

  • Flight - Dark Shenron is capable of sustained flight.
  • Wish Granting - As an Eternal Dragon, Dark Shenron can grant wishes as long as they do not exceed his creator's power.
  • Dark Ruination Orb (崩壊の暗黒球, Dark Ruination Orb) - Dark Shenron's Super Attack in Dragon Ball Heroes.
  • Dark Shenron Wave (暗黒神龍の波動, Dark Shenron Wave) - An ability used in Dragon Ball Heroes that deals 3000 damage to the enemy team each round, and reduces the Super Attack damage of the enemy team by 50% when his team's health is lowered under 50%.
  • Razing Smash (破壊攻撃, Razing Smash) - An ability used in Dragon Ball Heroes that reduces the enemy team's Hero Energy by 2 after every successful Charge Impact.
  • Ready to Strike Back (逆襲の好機, Ready to Strike Back) - An ability used in Dragon Ball Heroes that gives 10000 PWR to any allies with consistently under 100 PWR.

Trivia

  • In the image of Time Breaker Dende creating Dark Shenron, the Eternal Dragon statue he holds resembles regular Shenron, rather than Dark Shenron.
  • Dark Shenron is seemingly the only demonic Eternal Dragon capable of granting wishes as the Shadow Dragons and Mr. Poko Poko seemingly lack said ability. He is also the second Demonic Eternal Dragon after Mr. Poko Poko created by a Dragon Clansman rather than being the result of negative energy produced by overuse of a set of Dragon Balls.
