Making its debut, Nose for Treasure is learned by advancing to rank 7 of the Thief vocation and costs 0 MP to use.
Dragon Quest VII
Nose for Treasure is learned by mastering the Thief vocation in the PS1 version, and by advancing to rank 5 of the aforementioned vocation in the 3DS remake. It costs 0 MP to use once again.
Dragon Quest VIII
Yangus can learn Nose For Treasure after allocating 16 skill points into his Humanity skill tree and costs 0 MP to use once again.
Dragon Quest IX
This ability is learned with 42 skill points invested into the Thief's Acquisitiveness skill tree. Unfortunately, it only checks the remaining red chests, not blue ones, severely limiting its usefulness.
Dragon Quest XI Definitive Edition
Already learned by Erik when he is recruited, it acts the same as in previous appearances and costs 0 MP to use once again.
