The Knightleigh Family was once the wealthy mayoral family of Nod's Limbs until Augustus Nod, founder of Nod's Limbs and rightful owner of the Knightleigh's fortune was rescued from the cave he was trapped in centuries ago. The family was then banished from town.
History
When Augustus Nod showed no interest in running Nod's Limbs, the people elected the more popular and sociable tavern owner, as the first mayor of Nod's Limbs, and a Knightleigh has served as mayor ever since.
The Mayor Thaddeus Knightleigh ordered the construction of many notable buildings, such as a large town hall where citizens gathered to hear him speak, a theater, the Clock Tower, and seven covered bridges.
To his dismay, Thaddeus Knightleigh could never persuade the townspeople to rename Nod's Limbs "Knightleighville", because the citizens felt obliged to show some respect to the man who paid their salaries.
