The 1985 Japan Series was the 36th edition of Nippon Professional Baseball's postseason championship series. It matched the Central League champion Hanshin Tigers against the Pacific League champion Seibu Lions. Making their first appearance in the Japan Series since 1964, the Tigers finally won their first Japan Series championship. For 38 years, it's the only Japan Series that was won by the Tigers until 2023, when they defeated fellow Kansai region team, Orix Buffaloes, breaking the Curse of the Colonel in the process.
