English: This mosque is larger than the main mosque of Lucknow, the Asafi mosque where all the major prayer services take place. Mohammad Ali Shah started the construction of this mosque with the intention of building the largest mosque in India, however the construction was left midway after his death, even though he left funds for the completion of the mosque. The two incomplete minarets still stand tall today even though some parts of the smaller minarets fell during the recent wind storms in the monsoon of 2018.
This photograph was taken from the second gate of Hussainabad. Since the mosque does not have much area left for a clearer and wider view, the high gate of Hussainabad provides a fine vision of the mosque.
