English: Kaeng lueang (Thai script: แกงเหลือง; lit. "yellow curry") is the Central Thai name for the famous sour curry from southern Thailand. In Southern Thailand it is called simply called kaeng som (Thai script: แกงส้ม; lit. "sour curry"). The curry in this image is a very traditional and basic version with fish and bamboo shoots. The photo was taken at a small eatery in Chiang Mai which was run by a lady from Ko Pha Ngan.
