English: Robert Martin Collins was born in Sydney (Australia),17 December 1843 and died 18 August 1913. He married Arabella Boles Smyth in Ireland and when they returned to Queensland, they lived at Tamrookum in the Beaudesert area. (from Library description)

Robert was the eldest son of John and Anne Collins, who were pioneers of the Mundoolun area in Queensland. He represented Albert in the Queensland Government Legislative Assembly in 1896-98, and was one of the founders of the National Park system in Queensland.
