DescriptionWest 187th Street stairs from below.jpg
A steep ridge in Upper Manhattan located between Bennett Avenue and Fort Washington Avenue, and between West 182nd Street and Dyckman Street, prevents most cross streets from continuing from the Washington Heights neighborhood into Hudson Heights. At West 187th Street, the two sections are connected by a long set of stairs between Overlook Terrace and Fort Washington Avenue. This image looks west from Overlook Terrace, in Washington Heights, to Fort Washington Avenue, in Hudson Heights.
