A two-alarm fire at Manresa caused substantial damage to the restaurant on July 7, 2014.[5] After extensive work and a complete kitchen rebuild, it re-opened on New Year's Eve, 2014.[6]
The San Francisco Chronicle rated the restaurant four stars in 2012 and 2015.[2][7] In 2012, Forbes rated Manresa the best restaurant in the United States.[8] The restaurant was also a finalist in the 2014 James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Restaurant.[9]
In November 2022, Kinch announced Manresa's closure with its final day being December 31 of that year.[10][11]
