Achievements
editAs Selangor EXCO of Investment, Trade and Mobility
editSince Sze Han took charge of the latest portfolio, Selangor has demonstrated exceptional economic performance. The state has achieved the highest economic growth nationwide, with a GDP contribution exceeding 25.9%, making it the first state in Malaysia to surpass RM400 billion in economic activities.
He is currently actively involved in establishing the Malaysia Semiconductor Integrated Circuit (IC) Design Park in Puchong, Selangor, which launched in August 2024.[3] He has successfully attracted investment from two Malaysian diaspora: Dato Ks Pua, the founder of Phison Electronics who resides in Taiwan, and Dr. Salleh, co-founder of Weeroc, a leading French fabless semiconductor manufacturer. The park, the first and largest IC design park in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, opened in August 2024.
Sze Han is actively advancing the aviation industry, striving to maintain Selangor's status as a domestic aviation hub and leader. Selangor contributes 67% to Malaysia's aerospace economy and is projected to require 32,000 aviation technical talents by 2030. Beyond attracting investments, Sze Han also supports local SMEs by organising a range of seminars, which cover platform such as Xiaohongshu, ChatGPT, Shopee, Facebook, and e-invoicing. Additionally, he leads local startups in participating in international exhibitions and competitions, including SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024 and the 2024 Taipei Smart City Expo.
Moreover, Sze Han has spearheaded the "Selangor Mobility" initiative, which introduced Demand Responsive Transport (DRT).[4] This service tackles the first and last mile challenges in Selangor and encourages a long-term habit of public transport usage among residents. DRT offers the convenience of short-distance ridesharing with the flexibility of on-demand taxi services, accessible anywhere without fixed routes, yet priced like public bus fares.
Sze Han's goals are clear: to attract high-quality investments, foster innovation, and cultivate local business expertise, thereby stimulating economic growth and generating high-quality, well-paying jobs for the people of Selangor.
As ADUN Kinrara
editDapur Kinrara
editDapur Kinrara is a community kitchen initiative founded by YB Ng Sze Han.[5] Dapur Kinrara was established in response to the growing need for food assistance in the community. With rising living costs and economic hardship, many families and individuals struggle to afford basic necessities like food. Dapur Kinrara aims to bridge this gap by providing a reliable source of nutritious meals to those in need.[6]
In addition to providing hot meals, Dapur Kinrara also organizes food distribution drives and other community outreach programs. These initiatives aim to reach a wider range of individuals and families in need, ensuring that no one is left behind.
Solving the Flood Problem in Kinrara
editThe flood problem in Kinrara is not taken lightly by YB Mr Ng Sze Han. An investigation has been conducted to identify the cause of the flood and it was found that the Sungai Kuyoh Water Retention Pond has become shallow and small. A discussion was held with YB Federal Territories Minister and Dato Mayor of DBKL. YB Minister finally agreed to carry out and expedite the work. Sungai Kuyoh’s bund was also built and the tunnel under the KESAS Highway which was also found to be the cause of the flood was closed. As a result, there is no more flooding in the Kinrara area.
